Vocational Training & Livelihood Unit
"From Learning to Earning."
The Vocational Unit was established to transform the HOPE Charitable Trust Library into a holistic community hub. By integrating the vast resources of our 8,100-book collection with hands-on technical training, we help our members turn theoretical knowledge into sustainable livelihoods.

Training Programs & Workshops
We offer a rotating curriculum of vocational courses designed to meet the demands of the local economy:
- Garment Construction & Tailoring: From basic stitching to advanced fashion design, empowering women to start their own boutiques or home-based units.
- Handicrafts & Eco-Products: Training in making paper bags, cloth mats, and upcycled items to promote sustainable living.
- Digital Literacy & Office Tools: Basic computer training, data entry, and internet safety to prepare our youth for modern workplaces.
- Small-Scale Food Processing: Workshops on making pickles, jams, and traditional Kerala snacks following food safety standards.
- Sustainable Agriculture: Guidance on terrace farming, mushroom cultivation, and organic gardening (often integrated with our Kayikavedhi for outdoor health).
The Library Connection
What makes our Vocational Unit unique is our Resource Integration Strategy. Every student in our vocational wing is encouraged to use our library’s specialized collection:
- Access to 800+ technical manuals and "How-To" guides.
- Subscriptions to business journals and fashion periodicals.
- Reference materials on Government subsidies and MSME registration.
