About Us

A Legacy of Compassion

Founded in May 2003 at Vyakula Matha Church, Pilathara, the Health Oriented Projects Establishments (HOPE) began as a humble initiative by Fr. George Painadath and Sri. K.S. Jayamohan. What started with a 17-member committee has evolved into a registered charitable trust dedicated to the philosophy of "Vasudhaika Kutumbakam"—viewing the world as one universal family.

Since our formal registration in July 2004, we have grown into a beacon of hope for the underprivileged in North Malabar, driven by the belief that unconditional love and selfless service can transform lives.

"HOPE Charitable Trust: A Beacon of Hope for the Needy"

Our Inception

Our name was first introduced to the public through an eye camp in Narkilakad of Chittarikal Panchayath on July 27, 2003, which was a joint project of Kerala Patients Welfare Association and HOPE. Since then, we have organized numerous eye camps, medical camps, health awareness programs, and weekly camps at Vyakula Matha Church. On April 4, 2004, we inaugurated our first regular monthly eye camp in Pilathara, marking a significant milestone in our journey.

Formation and Registration

On the evening of January 4, 2004, a meeting was convened at Vyakula Matha Church complex, where it was decided to register HOPE as an independent entity. Adv. K.S. Vijayakumar and Adv. K.V. Sasidharan Nambiar were authorized to prepare the deed, and a 17-member ad-hoc committee was formed. Fr. George Painadath served as the initial President, Sri. K.S. Jayamohan as General Secretary and Managing Trustee, and Sri. K.D. Benny as Treasurer.

With 15 cents of land received as a donation and 35 cents purchased from Sri. Anchillath Muhammed, the trust was officially registered on July 23, 2004. The seventeen founding members, including Fr. George Painadath, K.S. Jayamohan, K.D. Benny, and others, played a pivotal role in establishing HOPE.

Evolution and Growth

Over the years, HOPE has grown significantly and achieved various milestones in its philanthropic endeavors. We have established zonal offices in Kerala and other states to facilitate our charitable activities. His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Alex Vadakkumthala, Bishop of Kannur Diocese, and Dr. S. Krishnakumar IAS (Retd) are the Chief Patrons of the Trust, and we are proud to have several religious heads and celebrities from various fields as our patrons.

Our Vision

Our vision is "Health to all." We believe that a society with sound mental, physical, and spiritual health can achieve prosperity, happiness, peace, and communal harmony. Our vision is rooted in the message of unconditional love without boundaries and the concept of an extended family, as envisioned in our Puranas: "Vasudhaika Kutumbakam."

Our Mission

Our mission is to work tirelessly to create a society that transcends caste, creed, religion, and geographical differences. We aim to evoke a sense of duty and garner the support of the society to provide a good physical, relational, emotional, and spiritual environment for all.
